Itanium Blade Servers HP has now released the BL860c Blade servers for the c class blade system. This allows UNIX users to benefit from the space and power saving features of the c class blade system. The BL860c is a full height blade server and supports up to 2 x Dual Core Itanium CPUs. This gives enough performance for many critical business applications. It is possible to fit eight BL860c blades into a 10Unit C Class Blade Enclosure. The BL860c is fully compatible with the range of C Class Interconnect modules including Brocade SAN switches and Cisco Ethernet modules. The BL860c carries the same low cost maintenance options as the Proliant blades, which greatly reduces the cost of ownership over traditional UNIX servers.
