Customer Focus: Application Service Provider Our client is a major Application Service Provider, delivering Oracle Financials services to large Public Sector customers. When they first came to Abtech, they were looking for a partner who could provide them with a cost effective server and storage infrastructure on which they could host their applications. The key applications were based around Oracle's e-Business Suite and the infrastructure needed to be both scalable and highly resilient. Cost was also paramount as the client was bidding their services into a highly competitive market. Abtech recommended a solution based on HP9000 servers and a Storage Area Network based on HP Storageworks hardware and software. The database servers were clustered using HP/MC ServiceGuard integrated with Oracle 9iRAC database clustering.

The initial solution was fully Project Managed by Abtech and went live shortly after. The solution has since evolved to support an increasing number of users. The modular design of the solution means that it is easy to predict the costs associated with adding users. This allows the client to be very confident when bidding for business.
